About
The ArthroTense is the first robust method of determining tension within a suture while remaining consistent with current surgical approaches. In many major soft tissue surgeries in both humans and animals, suture or tissue tension is a critical factor in determining the outcome of the surgery. Unfortunately, there's no method to quantify the tension that's being applied, so surgeons, operating by "feel," often apply the wrong tension and the patient suffers. The ArthroTense is a surgical tool that transmits suture tension in real-time to an external reader. The ArthroTense allows surgeons to ensure suture tension does not exceed the recommended threshold tension. This results in greatly improved soft tissue surgical outcomes, which in turn reduces long-term healthcare costs resulting from failed surgeries, post-operative complications, and length rehabilitation protocols. This platform technology has applications in many surgeries where suture or tissue tension is a critical factor.
