About

We live in a world of constant stimulation, from buzzing smartphones in our pockets to the stream of unending media we consume on ubiquitous monitors both personal and public. This high degree of fast paced media saturation has conditioned our minds, altering the way we understand visual media. Neither an 18th-century painting nor what was then considered a novel daguerreotype photograph from the 19th century has the same resonance with a 21st-century viewer as they did in their own time. Technology has changed and will continue to change both the creation and reception of art. We envision a future for the role of technology that enhances rather than competes with one’s experience with a work of art.
