About
In many parts of the world the risks of drinking local unpurified water are well known. To avoid these risks, most turn to bottled water, which is neither cost effective, sustainable or is inaccessible. PV Pure designs and deploys small scale (500-10,000 liters/day), decentralized water purification systems using solar energy, to provide clean water from nearby water sources directly at the end-user’s location, at a small fraction of the cost of commercially produced bottled water. Target users include homes, hotels, restaurants, schools, medical clinics and developing, remote communities. Our design approach, developed with 7+ years of research at MIT, produces robust, customizable, modular and efficient systems to offer the lowest cost of clean water per liter on the market. Control software allows for local operation and maintenance for a sustainable solution while contributing to local economies. Technical and test market success in Mexico implies global application potential.
