MoviePigs

MoviePigs is a mashup of Netflix and KickStarter for international film. It's a 2-sided platform that allows filmmakers to crowdfund their projects, and the audience to watch films from around the world. We give the power of creation to the rightful owner, the talent, and the power of evaluation and selection, to the rightful owner, the audience. Social interactions are key on the platform. Users can view a LinkedIn-like network of talents, and interact with them. They can also review, share, and comment on films, crowdfunding projects, and talents. Talents that are crowdfunding their films can use a CRM to engage with their backers and followers, until the film release, and to fulfil orders. The backend data analytics utilises the fact that we have supply (talents) and demand (audience) actively interacting on the same platform, to develop a stronger recommendation algorithm, and build a stronger predictive model for independent film distribution and profitability.
