About
Currently, “mobile health”encompasses a multitude of apps without clinical validity, peripheral to the healthcare system. Aedio’s premise rests on clinical validation of uniquely integrated mobile data as predictive “digital biomarkers" of disease. Aedio is a mobile health platform for gathering disease-relevant data from a patient in their surroundings (physiology, environmental data, behavior, mood). The founding technology is a prototype smartphone-based respiratory monitor paired with a consumer cardiac monitor. Initially focused on Asthma, Aedio moves beyond health tracking, translating in-hospital cardio-pulmonary sciences to the mobile space, employing real-time analytics to make predictions of impending disease deterioration. To be validated through formal clinical study, Aedio represents a “digital drug," prescribed by physicians, reimbursed like a traditional pharmaceutical product, but empowering patients to understand and control their own disease natural history.
